Fast forward to 2025, and the Express Entry system looks a little different. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) started using new selection categories aimed at addressing specific workforce needs — not just general high scores. For example, candidates with strong French skills or experience in certain job sectors, like trades or healthcare, are now getting more attention in the draws.
Here’s a look at some of the draws so far this year:
Draw # | Date | ITAs | CRS | Type |
---|---|---|---|---|
341 | March 21, 2025 | 7500 | 379 | French-language proficiency |
340 | March 17, 2025 | 536 | 736 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) |
339 | March 6, 2025 | 4500 | 410 | French-language proficiency |
338 | March 3, 2025 | 725 | 667 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) |
337 | Feb 19, 2025 | 6500 | 428 | French-language proficiency |
336 | Feb 17, 2025 | 646 | 750 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) |
335 | Feb 5, 2025 | 4000 | 521 | Canadian Experience Class (CEC) |
334 | Feb 4, 2025 | 455 | 802 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) |
333 | Jan 23, 2025 | 4000 | 527 | Canadian Experience Class (CEC) |
332 | Jan 8, 2025 | 1350 | 542 | Canadian Experience Class (CEC) |
331 | Jan 7, 2025 | 471 | 793 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) |
What’s different now? The draw types have become more targeted. It’s not only about a high score anymore — language ability, job experience in certain industries, and nomination by a province can all make a big difference.
