$85 million is being allocated to Canada Immigration to accelerate the processing of immigration programs by the end of 2022.
According to Minister Fraser, 147,000 decisions on permanent residence will be finalized in the first quarter of 2022. A new Permanent Residence Application Tracker will be introduced in February 2022 for spouses and dependents, allowing applicants to follow up on their applications online.
Canada is also going to allow people to self-administer their Citizenship Oath by signing attestation and celebrating later, resulting in a shorter wait time.
